
Experience: From 1995-2009, Attorney Sullivan was the Assistant General Counsel for the Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge, MA. Her responsibilities included:
- Advising the Board of Commissioners, Executive Director and staff on questions arising in operation of public housing authority including developing policy, and interpretation, implementation and compliance with federal state and local laws;
- Advising and representing the CHA Operations Department in grievances, related lease enforcement activities, bringing summary process cases and other litigation;
- Acting as the ADA/§ 504 Coordinator;
- Acting as the Sexual Harassment Officer and Investigator;
- Training Management and Staff in Lease enforcement and eviction proceedings, Fair Housing Law, ADA/ Section 504, and Anti-Discrimination law.
Training and Consulting: Attorney Sullivan is available to provide a wide variety of services to individuals, organizations and agencies including:
- Development of policies and procedures to comply with the requirements of state, federal and local laws;
- Advising and training management and staff on responsibilities and obligations under these laws including ADA/ยง 504, Fair Housing Law and Anti-discrimination Law and Limited English Proficiency (LEP).
Investigation: Attorney Sullivan has over 12 years experience and extensive training in investigating anti-discrimination complaints.
- MCAD Remedial Training, Internal Investigations & Accommodations: Attorney Sullivan has over 10 years experience as the ADA Coordinator and Sexual Harassment Officer/Investigator for the Cambridge Housing Authority. Attorney Sullivan is eligible to provide the following:
- MCAD-ordered remedial training;
- Internal Investigation of discrimination complaints;
- Assistance to employers with the accommodation process.
Litigation: On either a long term or short-term basis, Attorney Sullivan can handle Summary Process cases, emergency motions and appearances before administrative agencies. She can also act as a Reasonable Accommodation hearing officer, the appeal officer for ADA/ & 508 requests and grievances.
